Swimming Lessons

The YMCA offers Group Swimming Lessons for children of all ages and skill levels.

June 11th- July 16th

Register by June 7th

Preschool (3 to 5 year olds):This class will focus on introduction to the water and improvement of their safety and their comfort in the swimming pool. Children learn elementary skills, including water entry, bubble blowing, front kicking, back floating, underwater exploration and more.

Beginner: This class is for participants who are taking swim lessons for the first time. Emphasis is on water adjustment, swimming readiness skills, basic safety, floating, kicking, and arm strokes.

Intermediate/ Advanced: This class is for children that that are confident in the  water and also for children that know the basic swimming skills. At this level the arms position, legs exercises, and breathing will be practice. Kickboards will be used for better results.

Swim Lessons will meet once a week on Monday evenings for a six week session. Each class will be 30 minutes long. Registration will end the Thursday before the session starts.

Parents are asked to observe last 5 minutes of class only.
